A Sunday in Chikballapur

Team proVISION ASIA will have lots of memories of the kids, parents and all the wonderful people we met at the vibrant and colorful village. But the one we’d  certainly cherish the most is of a child named Junath.

Junath is very soft spoken boy.  He is studying in the 6th grade and aspires to become a doctor when he grows up. Like most boys in his village, Junath lives in a small house with a large family.   The 13 year old grew up with cerebral palsy . When  asked  about his life, We were blown by the answers he gave , we asked him if his condition kept him from going to school, his answer was, “ No, even though my body hurt so much I always went to school because I want to become a  doctor someday”.  He wouldn’t let his weakness stop him from becoming what he wanted even though he felt excruciating pain day in and day out. He just toughed it out. When  asked him why he wanted to be a doctor, he said. “I can heal all those who suffer like me”.

Junath received a beautiful wheelchair where he can travel to school with no pain. Of course, his life is still going to be a challenge.  But we are confident of this.  Junath is going to be successful.  With everything he has overcome already, this kid will do whatever it takes to make his dreams come true.

Junath being wheeled out with a smile across his his face.
